500th Patient Group Meeting Space configured – July 2021

The National Video Conferencing Team (NVCS) have provided over 500 patient group session spaces across NHS Scotland in the last year allowing clinicians to carry out group consultations/medical appointments with up to 25 patients in one session. Typically, these sessions are delivered by a clinician to a group of patients who share similar health issues.

Clinicians request a dedicated video space on the NVCS website which they can use whenever required. Host and guest PINs allow clinician and patients to have distinct levels of access to the video space.

Almost all Health Boards in Scotland are already using the system and a wide variety of services are involved, including: Diabetes, Midwifery, Occupational Heath, Pain Management, Physiotherapy, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Psychology, and Weight Loss groups.

NVCS can create new spaces on request and provide user guides, training, and ongoing support.
