Consult Now, if enabled for your Waiting Area, allows Service Providers to send callers a one-off link that, when accessed, brings them straight into a video call. It allows easy escalation from a phone call to a video call. Since your caller does not need to enter any personal details, they can be in a video call with you in under 30 seconds.
The unique call link, generated from Consult Now, is only valid for five minutes after a Service Provider sends it. Other possible uses may include streamlining virtual patient visits. In this example of a patient user guide, the patient would have been given an NHS iPad and quickly shown how to initiate Consult Now calls with visitors in a Waiting Area that’s the patient’s own for the duration of iPad loan.
