The next platform update, due early February 2026, will see Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) added to all NHS Scotland staff using the Near Me service. MFA will remain optional but recommended for non-NHS Scotland Service Providers. There’s no need to wait until February though – it’s simple to activate now by yourself.
MFA is a welcome additional layer of security for your platform account. There will be two methods for receiving or generating the single use codes that will be required to access the platform – email or authentication application. We have further information in our MFA pages.
