The latest release of Safari revealed some audio problems in Near Me calls:
- iPhones/iPads running iOS 27/iPad OS 27 and Macs running macOS 27/Safari 27 – have no incoming audio in group calls. Audio in standard call works as it should.
- macOS 15.8 and Safari 27 – no incoming audio in standard or group calls.
N.B. 21st September 2026. Most iPhones and iPads that are capable of running iOS/iPad OS 27 will still be running iOS/iPadOS 26.7 so will recive audio in group calls.
Workarounds
iPhones/iPads – If running iOS/iPadOS 27, the latest version of Firefox will provide audio in group calls. Other browsers may work too.
Macs – If running macOS 15.8 or 27, use another browser such as Firefox, DuckDuckGo or Chrome.
