VitalHub has reported that the hotfix, previously scheduled for Oct 8th will now be brought forward to overnight on Monday 5th October. No downtime is required.
Update 3 – 30th September 14:30
VitalHub has reported finding a serious problem when regression testing their proposed hotfix. At present, they now expect the hotfix deployment will be on the 8th of October.

There’s a hot fix due tonight – 00:15 – 03:45 GMT. The platform is expected to remain available throughout.
Update 1 – 29th September 12:45
If a user is on the latest update to macOS 15 (15.8.1, released 28th September) now works like macOS 27: incoming audio is now only a problem with group calls.
The latest release of Safari revealed some audio problems in Near Me calls:
- iPhones/iPads running iOS 27/iPad OS 27 and Macs running macOS 27/Safari 27 – have no incoming audio in group calls. Audio in standard call works as it should.
- macOS 15.8 and Safari 27 – no incoming audio in standard or group calls.
N.B. 21st September 2026. Most iPhones and iPads that are capable of running iOS/iPad OS 27 will still be running iOS/iPadOS 26.7 so will receive audio in group calls.
Workarounds
iPhones/iPads – If running iOS/iPadOS 27, the latest version of Firefox will provide audio in group calls. Other browsers may work too.
Macs – If running macOS 15.8 or 27, use another browser such as Firefox, DuckDuckGo or Chrome.
