Near Me calls made using a combination of macOS 15.8 and Safari 27 result in no audio heard by the user. We have reported the problem to Vitalhub and will update this post when we hear more. Until the problem is resolved, we advise using another browser, such as Firefox, DuckDuckGo or Chrome, for Near Me calls on Macs running macOS 15.8.
[Although older Macs running Intel processors will be stuck on macOS 15 or earlier, newer M series Macs can all be upgraded to newer operating systems such as macOS 27. There is no audio problem with Safari 27 on macOS 27.]
